Lemony Snicket's Series of unfortunate events

I got this audio book from the library this week and listened to it while I was at work. OMGosh, I loved it. It was such a cleverly written book. I've already put a request in for the second book.

I honestly can't wait till DS is old enough to start reading. I would love to read this one with him. Although I know I should wait till he's a bit older. In the meantime I'm going to continue reading the series. I haven't been this hooked into a series in quit some time.

The Cat Who had 60 Whiskers

I finished "the cat who had 60 whiskers" by Lilian Jackson Braun. I am a huge fan of this book series but I gotta say that I was very disappointed in this book. There was one other recent book that I was very disappointed in. There is no little teasers, the mystery is solved in one page and you turn the next page and the book is done. I hate to say it but I think that she's run out of ideas. :-(

I have started a new series. It's by Marian Babsonb, I believe. As soon as I finish it I will post my thoughts about it. Considering she's been writing since the 70's the books have to be decent, lol.

It's official, it's spring!

I say that *only* because I mowed my lawn today. It was *not* very nice out though. Cold and windy, brrrrrr. But the grass needed to be cut bad. Things are starting to really take off in the garden. Tulips are blooming and some of the plants I grew from seeds last year are sprouting now. I can't wait to see what they are cause I forgot what I planted other than columbine. :-)

I started making a scarf out of some gorgeous yarn I got a Micheal's. I need to get another skein of it though, probably two. :-( My frugalness has come back to bite me. It's hard to get up to that store and I don't always have a coupon. But I seen there are two coupons in this weeks flyer so I may make a trip up there cause the yarn is not cheap.

I can't believe I finally did it :-)

After spending a weekend of *trying* to make a bootie on the knifty knitter (and failing) I made a hat for my DS. Oh it turned out so cute that I decided to make a second one on the next size up knifty knitter. They are so cute.

First hat made on knifty knitter

The second hat I used both green and white yarn. DH said to make him one out of cotton yarn so it doesn't make him itchy when he's working. :-) I think the hat I make for him I will make with needles rather than the knitter. He works outside a lot and needs a tight stich. Although ... I suppose I could try the 1 over 2 stitch. It's something to ponder anyways.

Okay, my first knifty knitter project

I started knitting a small swatch on a knifty knitter round loom so I could try and get the hang of loom knitting. However, I only used one strand of yarn and I think the piece looks a little "thin" for lack of a better word. Unless someone tells me that it is not going correctly I may continue so I have good practice. I know my DS will love the piece since he's already claimed the other pieces that I've knitted. :-) Such a sweetie he is :-)

I'm still getting used to this whole blogging thing. So I apologize if it's not very eye appealing just yet. I work on it a little bit at a time when I have a few free moments.

Tonite's funny kid story

Tonite we thought we'd try and put DS in the big bed and see if he would sleep in it. Well, he decided he wanted me to lay down with him and I did for about 10 minutes. I got up to leave and he cried and cried. :-( So we went back in and let him go back into the crib. He feels safe in the crib, I think. Anywho, we started putting everything back into the crib. His flashlights, his cup, his music box, his 2 blankets and once scarf; he decided he wanted the pillows from the bed. He got everything situated to where he wanted everything and he looked at us, pointed to the door and said "Go." LOL How funny is that, :-) He's done something like that only one other time and the timeing was pretty funny.
