October, the lost month

Let's call October a lost month, shall we?

Oh, I meant to write. Really, I did. Swearsies.

What the beginning of the month looked like.

Did I spend a lot of time admiring the view?

Nope, I was busy inside, making salsa.

This is part of the last tomato haul. Shortly after I ripped out the tomato plants.  It was a bittersweet moment.

Some of the jars of the last batch of 2026.

Did I even share that I did a garden journal video? At this point I don't remember.

I need to give the blog some serious attention. *ahem*

I have something pretty neat to share.

It's November 1 and I still have pepper plants out in the garden.  Yes! Isn't that wild?

Wanna see something even more wild?

A bowl full of hot peppers, picked this morning.  Yes, the morning of Nov. 1, 2026.

What it looked like this evening.

Well, the long and short of it is that October was a busy month for me.  The temperatures being warmer for longer was part of it.  I was able to delay some of the harvest and preservation and it all caught up to me at the end. I was busy trying to get things ready because a forecast said we had a strong chance of getting snow in the middle of the month. And then I was busy trying to get all the things in order because I had to get ready for surgery. I saw a specialist in the middle of the month, and I was scheduled for surgery at the end of the month.  As I type this I am feeling pretty dang good. Which is awesome. ❤️

I have a month's worth of photos sitting on my camera roll.  Rather than try to cram everything in to one blog post, I'm going to play catch up on the blog over the next week, or so. Then, hopefully I'll get on back into the swing of things and be a wee bit more regular with the writing.

Sound good? Great! 😃
