You know what's icky?
You sitting at your computer, drinking coffee and you hear a low slurp, slurp sound. You look over and it's the cat "grooming" herself but she sounds like she's enjoying it way too much.

I lived a charmed life ...
Telling ya, I live a charmed life. Today after work I was at a red light. When it turned green I waited my turn to go left. As I was going left through the intersection I came within feet of getting hit by another car. Someone didn't start slowing down soon enought and/or misjudged how icy it was outside. Anywho, they just about slide through the intersection and I happened to get out of their way just in time. Almost the same thing happened two years ago when I was pregnant. It's just crazy.
We finally got our snow!
This weekend we finally got the snow that we were promised. We know have a nice blanket of snow on the ground and any thoughts of Spring has been squashed. It was a lovely weekend but now that it's back to the grind and people have to travel, the roads have gotten sloppy and messy. We are gonna pay if the temp. drops below freezing.

About me
Hi, I’m Marcy. I live in the northwoods of Wisconsin, close to the shores of Lake Superior. I work outside the home during the day and by night I keep myself busy with my many hobbies that include knitting, spinning, crocheting, homesteading, gardening, photography, and chicken wrangling. I'm also an enthusiastic cook and baker, though my creations don't always turn out the way they should. When I can, I squeeze in time for reading.
A few years ago my husband and I purchased a piece of land in the country that was near the Amnicon River, hence the name of the blog. On that 10 acres of heaven I learned many of the homesteading skills I have grown to love, thanks to a very patient husband who let me indulge in all the things I wanted to try.
I started this blog many years ago, and when I first started writing I wasn't sure what I wanted to write about so the first few entries were kind of random. I got into knitting in 2007 and spinning in 2008 so I wrote some entries about both those hobbies. In the last few years I realized I wanted to capture memories. I had been fairly active on a couple online boards and I shared so much on them, but all those memories disappeared when the forums closed down. I don't want to lose anything else so I'm jotting the thoughts, ideas and memories about my life, family and crafting here. Not only do I want to save these memories but I want to share them with friends and family and be able to look back and go "oh yeah I remember that!" This blog has changed as I have changed and grown.
Thanks for stopping by!
