Hopefully next month will be better

The whole house has been sick with the dog flu for the last week. So I haven't done a whole lot of knitting but I did manage to get the two things I wanted done this month.

My lionbrand suede scarf. It's 7.5 feet long and super warm

I've also finished my blanket. I am now calling it the never ending blanket of doom. I think the next blanket I make will probably be a log cabin one like in the Mason Dixon book.

It's a pretty big and heavy blanket. So far I haven't had a real good opportunity to snuggle up in it yet. But I'm happy with it :-)

Here's a close up of the yarn

I also realized that I never posted a pic of my spindle or the yarn I spun on it. That right there I think shows of sick I've been, lol.

It's an AnnieMay spindle and so far I'm loving it.

I've been told that for my first time with the drop spindle this is really good. I've been looking things up here and there and I'm getting more and more of an idea. Of course I can't wait till I can order new colors. Someone was kind enough to tell me a couple names of online stores that have good stuff at good prices since I know almost nothing about fiber, lol.

I've also started a washcloth. It's about halfway done. It's been kind of a side project. It's the "Be My Washcloth"

I apologize for the quality of the photo but I've never been real good at taking photos of the washcloths.

Okay, so the title of this entry makes it seem like I've had a bad month. I haven't. As long as you don't count the sickness, the crankiness because of all the cold and lack of sun and just general feelings of blah. I got what I wanted accomplished in the knitting. And that's ... okay. :-)

Visit to the frog pond last night

Only about a 100 yards. The throw I'm working on had a dropped stitch in it. I didn't notice it until I was way past it of course. Considering how much time I'm spending on this I do NOT want this having an obvious oops. So I ripped back and had to keep the yarns in some sort of semblence of order. Took a long time. But I finally managed to get the stitches back on those needles. I think it was particularly hard because the loops are so big and I'm using two strands of yarn. This makes me not overly anxious to make a throw on those size 50 needles any time soon after this.

Tried my drop spindle last night. There is stuff missing from the literature I have. I took a visit to the beginning spinners group on ravalry and came across a great pdf. I probably won't come try the drop spindle again till this weekend though.

Quick check in

I've finished the fun fur self-striping scarf. I decided I like it :-). Course I like it even better now that I'm done with it, lol.

I'm about halfway done with the throw. It's starting to get heavy. I still haven't got the hang of working with those big needles.

And I've got about 4 ft done of the suede scarf. I'm almost done with the first ball of yarn. I don't think I'll make the second scarf in a moss stitch pattern. Although I do love how it looks. I'm thinking maybe a basketweave stitch. Not totally sure yet.

I managed to get pictures of my projects loaded up on ravelry. Course now they aren't up to date. I also got my needles all listed. I have photos of all of my stash taken so now I just need to list those all on ravelry and I can cross one more thing off my list.

Oh and I won a drop spindle on ebay. I went with peoples recommendations and looked up anniemay spindles. DH had found a seller in the state but they didn't sell roving with the spindles and it had a very pretty decorative handle that I wasn't sure if that was "kosher" for spinning. So hopefully I will get the drop spindle early next week. Who knows, if I work my little fingers to the bone I can get either the scarf or throw done this weekend just in time for my new toy. :-)
