Broody mama in the house

This morning my DH brought Elvis into the house.

Getting taken from the nesting box and put into the tote didn't seem to phase her much.  She looked over at her eggs, walked over and sat on them.

When they came to the house I brought the tote into my craft room/office and spent the day with her since it was my work-at-home day.

I got to hear her growl and buck-buck several times today when I checked on her and made sure she ate and drank.

Last time she went broody she lost SO much weight. I want to make sure that doesn't happen this time around.  I've also promised my friends that I would get video of her this time doing her growl and puff up when she's defending the nest.

I think there are six eggs under her right now. We are going to have a LOT of chickens if all those eggs are viable.

During my lunch hour I gave in and planted some herb seeds.  I feel like I'm so desperate to be working the soil that I must do *something.* I'm eager to see something green growing.

Daily 5 of things that made me happy today

1.  singing in the car with my son

2. Seeing the sun shine.

3. Elvis being such a good broody mama.

4. Grilled cheese sandwiches.

5. James Bond movies.

Will you keep all the chickens as egg layers or will some be butchered for meat?

And yum to grilled cheese!

I love singing with my girls. Of course our favorite right now is Let It Go. We just can't stop singing that song!

We are gonna keep the girls as layers. If we get any more boys I think we are going to try and rehome them. If not, the stew pot it is.

My favorite song is that "Happy" song. Seems to fit with my mood lately :-)
